Another fun year of family camp is in the books. It's always a good time at the lake, especially for the kids. We went a day early and spent some time just as a family. Took the kids to the zoo, riding go-karts, and out for some ice cream before heading in to the cabin. (or the bank if you're talking to my 3 year old)
The people I love most. Daddy is wrangling the toddlers.
Checking out the caracal. I like how the littlest monkey is holding on to the bigger monkey's tail.
The parakeet house was rad! The kids loved the birds landing on their sticks for feed.
We met a very friendly camel. (and by friendly I mean it paced the pen following us.)
My daughter was just sure she could speak to this cow and she was pretty happy
when it mooed back.
Waiting to pet some animals. We didn't pet them all because snakes are yucky.
African bull frog. Felt like rubber according to the boys.
One finger...
Super boys need lots of water. He couldn't drink enough.
Off to ride go-karts. I wasn't quick enough to get my oldest out of the gate, he let me know it too.
Waiting for his ice cream.
Finally....
We woke up and had our traditional donuts for breakfast.
Then down to the shore for some shell collecting and rock throwing. The fog on the lake was just lovely. A gift from God for me I am sure of it. Then when the sun topped the hill...
God makes beautiful things.
She rocked some pretty good style at camp this year.
Kind of a mish mash for a few hours. Back to the cabin, up to the pavilion, down for a nap...
Then Mamaw and Papa came and it all got a little better.
I caved on the wading in the water just as the sun set.
It was the shore again the next morning but this time we had friends.
My kids love church camp. They look forward to it all year.
Playing with friends, cousins, getting dirty, riding scooters. There's pool and ping pong, foosball, shuffle board, volleyball, fishing.. lots of fun to be had!
Pumpkin painting time!
Minnow races! I love seeing what the kids will name their minnows. This time around food was kind of the theme. We had a "Burger." "Chicken nugget." Fry." That and super heroes and villains. "Batman." "Zoom." "Baymax." Lots of fun for kids and adults.
My boy chose "Mario."
When they give you a ribbon and you really just wanted to keep your minnow.
And the winner was Burger!
My boy is now part of the lunker club. He caught a 3lb 4 oz bass off the dock.
Saturday night is pot luck and preaching!
Calling for her Papas to open the door!
Our last morning..
It's important to have clean feet before you travel.
Thankful for my mama's cooking this camp!!
Asleep in no time.
